What Is C.A.P.
C.A.P., Choose Adoption Please, is a group of volunteers whose primary mission is to aid Poplar Bluff Animal Control in providing care and a second chance for impounded animals. Our goal is to have as many as possible adopted into their forever homes. We provide vet care for the sick or injured impounded animals when permitted, and vaccinate and worm adopted animals at no cost to the city or adopters. We are funded only by contributions from animal lovers and 100% of all money received goes to helping animals.
C.A.P. is not affiliated with the city of Poplar Bluff or the animal shelter, but is trying to help the animals at the shelter. We understand and respect the shelter has rules and regulations to follow. Our goal is to work within the system to increase the possibilities for a better future for these unfortunate animals.
C.A.P. also helps other abused or mistreated animals at our discretion and as funds allow.

Also open Tuesdays and Thursdays 4 to 7 pm.

C.A.P. (Choose Adoption Please ) works in conjunction with the officers at the shelter and Lt. Tony Wallace. We understand they have rules and regulations to follow and we will abide by them as well. We are not here to take over, we only want to help.

How can you help C.A.P. (Choose Adoption Please ) help the animals
We need blankets, towels, and tee shirts for drying the puppies and for the cats to sleep on. You can take these to the shelter or drop them off at Pet Oasis pet store at 1800 S. Broadway 5B Poplar Bluff. Phone # 573-727-9430.
We are working on ideas for some type of cot for the dogs and puppies to lay on to get them off the concrete..They need to be made of something that can be sterilized, cheap, and easy to make. Your suggestions are welcome.
Help is needed in the mornings from 8am to 10am to get the animals ready for viewing and adoptions. This will include cleaning out the kennels, bathing puppies and changing cat boxes.
We have collection jars around town for money donations, which are desperately needed for vaccinations and vet care. The Pet Oasis pet store will match the money collected at their store up to $100 a month, and we think that's very generous!
